Born and raised in Grove, Oklahoma, Chris Stonecipher has been entertaining folks his entire life be it with music, stage performance, or both at once. Joining the Grove Community Playmakers at the age of 9, Chris was featured in many roles on stage from 1997 until his graduation from Grove High School in 2006. He moved briefly to the Kansas City area where he attended Johnson County Community College as both a Theatre and Music major before transferring to Pittsburg State University to complete his ultimate degree in Broadcasting and Communication, with a Minor in Creative Writing, which he received shortly before starting his job at KKOW.
Starting his work with board operation, Chris quickly moved into on-air work, and has become a comfortable presence there. Moving from weekends and evenings, to afternoons, and now to early and mid-days, Chris has also proven himself an adaptable writer, taking over a portion of the copywriting duties for the company in addition to his on-air work, all still as a part-time employee. Still, Chris wouldn’t have it any other way (aside from the whole part-time thing) as he says the best part of his day is spent at work, with the greatest co-workers, and the most enjoyable job available.
